We would love this to be the year we are able to obtain a bigger venue for the Church. Our Community Carol Service on Friday the 17th at Bootle Town Hall was a fantastic evening. The choir sang brilliantly, Chatter Tots and Jigsaw Kids Club stole the show and made their parents proud, with their songs. All the Praise, Honor and Thanks go To The Lord Jesus Christ. On Christmas morning we will be having a family service at 10.30am, and on Boxing Day morning we will be having a family service at 10.30am. Prepare the way for the Lord
Make straight paths for him, every valley shall be filled in and every mountain and hill made low....And all people will see God's salvation. Friday 3rd December we met at Linacre Mission along with 6 other local churches to pray for Bootle. There was a great oneness and a great sense of the Presence of God. We prayed for our schools, for families, for businesses, for the elderly, for those who are affected by debt, and for those who are lonely and living in dark places. During this lead up to Christmas we pray that we will Arise & Shine and that the Glory of God will come to Bootle. Join with us in Prayer in this coming week - see Events for more details.

The Kingdom of God is Here
Jesus opened the book of the prophet Isaiah in the synagogue and read "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord"
Jesus began to say " Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing" WOW
The prophet Isaiah looked into the future and saw the reign of Christ. That God would visit planet Earth and save His people.
Jesus is the Hope for our Nation. The Saviour of The World.

God's Grace
No matter who you are or what you have done, the door to transformation swings open before you.
Jesus sees people in need of God's Grace.
We are all trophies of God's Grace. Some more dramatically than others.
Jesus came to redeem and transform. To make all things New.
WOW What a God.
Last Sunday we looked at God's amazing Grace and the day that we received that amazing Grace we are faced with the stunning prospect of being judged by our future and not our past.
He is perfect in Love, Power, Character and Wisdom.
These are the expressions of His Nature.
He is awaiting us by Faith to embrace Him.

An Awesome Evening with God in Kensington
The 4 Liverpool Elim Churches met together in Kensington on Sunday evening and what an evening.
The Elim Kensington Church was full to capacity, everyone was hungry for God's presence, the Worship was awesome and there were testimonies of Healing, 2 Salvations and a unity that only the Holy Spirit brings.
A Great evening had by all.
We believe that it is only God's presence that brings changes to people's lives, to our Churches, to our City and to our Nation.
We believe that God Has Great plans for Liverpool " plans to prosper and not to harm, plans to give hope and a future. "

See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come. Song of Songs 2:11&12
This beautiful book of the Bible is more than just a love poem;its a picture of the love relationship between the Bridegroom and the Bride. During February we have been blessed by all our speakers on the revelation of God being our Father, and His amazing unconditional love that he has for each one of us. He has a great plan and purpose for our lives. And we have a great inheritance as children of God. During this next season our heavenly Father invites us into a more intimate relationship and process of transformation.... For we did not receive a spirit that makes us a slave again to fear, but we have received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, Abba, Father. Join us as we seek Him for more of that revelation of Him being Father...Abba..Daddy...Papa.... Easter is fast approaching and we will be having a service on Good Friday at 10.30am and our services on Easter Sunday will be at 10.30am & 6.30pm. We would like to wish all the Mums a 'Happy Mothers Day' on Sunday and special 'Congratulations' to Keith Graves on his 65th Birthday on the 18th. In May, Ian Yates will be launching his new album...more details to follow.

Now is the time for us.
We had a great weekend with Kevin and Margaret Peat on the 9th & 10th and the Ladies had a lovely lunch and a ministry time with Margaret. Margaret shared her personal testimony and talked about the different rooms that we find ourselves in at various times in our lives, usually the times that are most difficult and most challenging. She talked about the dark room, the changing room and the classroom and that through every situation and circumstance in life, that God was right next to us, holding our hand and getting us through. On Saturday night despite the bad weather we held a celebration meeting in Goddard Hall and it was good to see so many visitors from other parts of Merseyside joining with us. During the worship we had an amazing time in the presence of God and Kevin spoke to us about the need to be filled with FRESH OIL of the Holy Spirit. On Sunday morning Kevin declared that ‘NOW IS THE TIME FOR US’ and that despite the challenges and the stretching and growing that comes when things change, that we should not be hindered or held back by fear because as 1 John 4;18 says ‘Perfect love drives out fear’. God’s love for us is perfect and unconditional, and He will never leave us or forsake us, and we can be totally confident that He who began the good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. So, let’s keep our hearts pure, let’s be filled with the fresh oil of the Holy Spirit and lets be rooted and grounded in God’s love because His perfect love drives out all fear and let’s believe with all our hearts that NOW IS THE TIME FOR US!

2010 - Seeing the lost saved.
Well, we have had a great start to the New Year, starting with the Celebration and Prayer Event at the Hope Centre, where Dave Connolly shared his hear for the year -‘SEEING THE LOST SAVED’. On Sunday 3rd January we spent some time committing the year to the Lord and praying through Psalm 51, with particular emphasis on verses 10 – 13. Create in me a PURE heart, O, God, and renew a STEADFAST spirit within me. Do not cast me from your PRESENCE or take your HOLY SPIRIT from me. Restore to me the JOY of your SALVATION and grant me a WILLING spirit to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors YOUR ways and sinners will turn back to YOU. Our desire at Bootle Elim is that we will see God at work in our own lives and in the lives of those around us, that we will see His goodness and His love and His grace and His mercy in us and all around us, so that our community, city and nation will be transformed and turn back to Him.

Happy Christmas
We at Bootle Elim would like to wish you a very Happy Christmas and a Blessed & Fruitful New Year.
2009 has been a great year for us at the church with us moving into Goddard Hall for our Sunday morning meetings as we have outgrown ‘the bank’. We also had record numbers attending our Community Carol Service this year, with over 200 adults and children coming along on Friday the 19th December. The choir sang brilliantly, Chatter Tots and Jigsaw Kids Club stole the show and made their parents proud, with their songs and the staff and users of First Initiatives sang Silent Night wonderfully. Special thanks to Padi, Andy and the staff at First Initiatives for helping to make the evening go so well. Many of our congregation have a ‘story to tell’ of Gods goodness, provision and power in their lives over the past year and on Sunday 27th December at our morning service we will be celebrating their testimonies, as all the glory goes to God. In Revelation 19:10 the Bible says, ‘For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.’ So when God does a healing, fixes a marriage or helps someone to get a job and all the glory goes to Him, it becomes a powerful testimony and what He can do for someone else...He can do for you. So come along and be prepared to be impacted by Gods goodness and His power. On Christmas morning we will be having a family service at 10.30am, bring your presents and let’s give thanks.

In the evening we will be having a Celebration Meeting with Kevin Peat at 7.00pm in Goddard Hall. Kevin will also be with us on Sunday 10th at our morning service. It’s sure to be a great weekend and a great start to the New Year. No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived whar God has prepared for those who love him.
Apologies for the delay in updating the news, its been a busy few weeks. Last Sunday morning we had an amazing time with Dave Connolly from the Frontline Church in Liverpool. Great things are happening at the Frontline Church and we were really encouraged by Dave's word that we are on fertile ground and to get ready for the harvest. God is truly doing amazing things and its great to see that in the couple of months that we have been having our Sunday morning meetings in Goddard Hall that the place is filling up.We will be having a Community Carol Service at Goddard Hall with First Initiatives on Friday 18th December 2009 at 7.00pm. A joint venture with First Initiatives taking part along with the Chatter Tots children, Jigsaw Kids and the newly formed choir who are practising on Monday nights, all are welcome. We have also got our Prayer Fest week from 6th December 2009 to 13th December 2009 with lots of different opportunities to get together and pray for our community. You can pick up an itinery at church. This Sunday Steve will be preaching and Nick & Alison will be having their children dedicated. Come along and be blessed it could be just what you are looking for.

Moving forward...
We had an amazing opportunity to put John Glass’s word into practice at our joint meeting at Linacre Mission last Saturday. As we press into the things of God, He responds. This is another amazing place of heritage in the area, a further chance to re-dig the old wells of previous glorious God-filled times and seek Him for more. He is the same awesome, amazing God, Alpha & Omega and we believe that He wants to shake things in this area, breaking strongholds of poverty, hopelessness, dependency on alcohol and drugs and darkness across Sefton. Guess what, He wants to use us in all this! Exciting, eh?! And if that wasn’t enough, we ushered in the start of November by welcoming our friends from Chester, Nigel Mountford and the worship team. It was great to discuss, study, worship and pray together and to seek God’s favour on both our great cities. Finally, after a year and a half of tapping away and bringing you the web news, it is time to pass the role into fresh hands! There is always something going on to report - praise our amazing God and it has been a privilege to keep you up to date on the very visible and tangible growth in Bootle and the surrounding community. He ain't finished yet! The best is most DEFINITELY to come and your new author will continue to tell you all about it right here. God bless u all :)

Abundance of riches...
What a month at Bootle Elim! There is a great wave of hope and God is on the move in an amazing way. We were treated to great insight from Dave Woodfield and we were all glad we came, leaving refreshed and better for the experience. At half term, the young people from our Youth club went to Space on a coach! (yes it IS possible, even in the natural especially when it is the name of the joint youth gathering from across Mersey region, held at Frontline Church, Wavertree!) We enjoyed top class music and the best of good news and many of our youngsters were moved to make a declaration for Jesus. It was such a joy to see so many of the youth guys and gals, standing and praising, hands aloft worshipping the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords with such fervour! It's the next wave of the revolution and it's happening right here... We were also delighted to host the return to the North of our Elim Superintendent, John Glass, this month. His accent was getting a top up and we were filled and fed with great spiritual food. The teaching was on boldness in faith and the need for it more than ever, for such a time as this. God wants a victorious Church and in positioning ourselves, petitioning for the right things and praising Him with everything we have, we are on the way... If you have not heard or got hold of the CD of John's talk as yet, please contact the church through the website to arrange it - you will be glad you did (DVD also available upon request)...

Helping us to grow...
Our thanks go to our recent visitors, Geoff and Jane Blease for sharing with us and God blessed us with a great day of growing closer to Him. Last weekend, we were delighted to hear from Ian Yates. God used Ian to share with us some great things, encouraging us to focus more on who we are in Him. Ian's words touched many hearts in the gathered crowd so yet again He has not let us down! As we move on towards Christmas (how quickly the year has passed?!), there are many many more things to look forward to...Please take a peek at our Events log for the remainder of the month. We are hosting great messengers of God and digging into the well springs even more this month. Let's all make the decision to say "YES" to what He has started here in Bootle and in US. Be sure He will be faithful til the end :)

For such a time as this...
Well what a great day last Sunday 20th September was, quite a significant one for those of us at Bootle Elim as we crossed over into Goddard Hall for our Sunday morning meetings. We now have a lot more space and special thanks to First Initiatives especially Paddi & Anne at Goddard Hall who have kindly allowed us to rent this really nice facility. Also special thanks to all those who came at 9 o’clock on Sunday morning, to help to get everything ready.....we couldn’t have done it without you!
Pastor Steve told us on Sunday morning that we are all here for such a time as this and that God has been preparing us by changing our attitudes and mindsets so that he can accomplish all that He has for us here in Bootle. On Wednesday at our prayer meeting we prayed for our city and for our community in Bootle, that God would come and visit us. We need to be like the disciples who were clothed with power from on high, filled with the Holy Spirit and who joined together, constantly in prayer, persevering, being steadfast and pressing in for the breakthrough. Be sure it will come!

Re-digging the wells
On Sunday evening we had an awesome time with our ‘re-digging the wells’ meeting at Hope Baptist Church, there were people from Stuart Road Baptist & Bethel Baptist – now Hope Baptist as well as Ebenezer Chapel, Tetlow Street & Spellow Lane congregations. We spent some time thanking God and honouring the people who have gone before us, in particular Edward Jeffries. For those of you who don’t know there was a great healing revival in 1934 in Bootle on the site of the Hope Baptist church. It is reported that 300,000 people visited that tent crusade over a period of 40 days. It was reported on Tuesday 19th June 1934 that 10,000 people attended the tent and 3000 people were saved on that day. The headlines stated ‘A GLORIOUS REVIVAL, 3000 SOULS SAVED IN ONE DAY, BOOTLE MOVED FOR GOD’. Well we believe that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and we are believing & praying that God will visit us again. Many people were healed during the tent crusade in 1934, you can read more about it in Geoff Greens Book ‘Liverpool Gripped by Revival'
Special thanks to Mary and the people at Hope Baptist Church for making us so welcome.
Hope you all managed to get a copy of ‘You’re the Voice’ CD featuring Liam Moore, proceeds of which will go towards the Rhys Jones Memorial Fund. The song brings together children from schools in Norris Green and Croxteth in a campaign against guns and knife crime. For more information visit www.yourethevoice.org.uk
Just a reminder for Sunday 2nd October 2009, we have Geoff Blease with us in the morning at 10.30am and also for the evening ‘Outpouring’ meeting at 6.30pm. Come with great faith and expectancy to see God move in your life.

Back to basics...
Hello again from all at Bootle Elim. What an August it has been! The Ignite event @ Cefn Lea was a great success and many new family connections were established. There will hopefully be some of the talks available online to download. Watch this space for more details soon. A new season is once again upon us and there are fresh challenges to face in many ways. But knowing that God is with us is central to everything we do and we are praying for His guidance in the months ahead. We are back doing our basics again as we all return to work, school and college so please check out what we are up to on the diary and events. We have a big move of our main meetings from 20th September and the joint meeting at Hope Baptist Church the same day! Busy, busy, busy - see u along the way. God bless! :)

God is on the move...
and so are we! To accommodate our ever increasing numbers, we are taking a step forward into Goddard Hall (next door where we hold our "Kids Church" activity) for our main Sunday morning meetings. If you have not already volunteered to assist with the setting up and taking down and feel you can help, please get involved and give your name to Pastor Steve who will let you know more details. With movement, there is change and we don't always react well in the flesh to change. However, if we want to grow in anything or birth something new, most of the time there is some inevitable pain!!! Our faithful and anointed worship leader, Ian has made great progress with his album and we look forward to March 2010 release (can I get an early copy??!) We really pray for it to be a blessing upon all who hear it or have involvement with the project - it is proving to be a life changing experience for Ian and a fulfillment of a dream God birthed in him a few years back. The Ignite Conference at Cefn Lea is rapidly approaching and we ask that you pray for everyone involved in preparation, organisation, teaching and worship - this will be a new experience for all of us in the NW Elim church and very much a taste of great things! There are lots of other good things coming up so check it all out on the buttons and diary. The seasons are very much changing and there will also be a little break in news updates for the holiday period as well as a few of our activities (details are listed). But you can count on the fact that our God is everlasting and greater things are still to come!!! God bless u all :)

God of all creation
Here's the good news! Our wonderful creative God never ceases to work for us so who can be against us? A second soaking, praying and prophetic night was a restful and intimate time for everyone involved. On top of that, the new Art Club at the Bounty House has been drawing out more hidden creativity in those taking part. We are a creative people, blessed with talents to share and bless others with and everyone is benefitting all round from this new venture. You are welcome to come along, if you fancy reconnecting with your creative side or simply like good company and want to learn... Last month's video offerings from Roy Morgan are now online and there'll be further videos served up for you in the next couple of weeks so please keep coming back for more. You know He wants you to! :)

Open the floodgates!
It's been a great time of growth recently... More youngsters of all ages are joining the fun from more "chatter tots" right thru to the youth club. It's very encouraging to see God drawing his kids closer...Young and old had a fabulous time at the annual BBQ @ Formby - new faces and old joining us again with around 150 in attendance. It was hot stuff for most of the day and we all cooled down for a few laughs in the storm - a day not to be forgotten! All in all, the floodgates of Heaven are opening up and our God is pouring out His love on us all - let's just reach out and tell Him how much He is appreciated. We have another night of prayer and prophetic teaching this week so please come along (with your pillow and quilt if u want!) to soak and seek God more from 7.30pm. Our great Man of God, Ian Yates has begun recording the new album with Survivor Records and has made great progress - more news to come but we are hopeful of a release of the new offering ready for Christmas 2009 - let us all pray that these songs will change many lives in the months and years to come. Other half, Kate has just returned from an amazing mission in Romania with YKids in partnership with Paternoster - Kate and the team have planted great seed in Ploiste and the surrounding area and she shared some great testimony of what is happening there. If you want any further info on this work, please mail us and we'll put you in touch...And finally, many blessings to Liam H as he embarks on his new job off in East London - he's a dab hand with a pastry brush - u know?! Watch this space, he might just end up being the first Christian celebrity chef?!

Building bigger people
Hello everyone! Isn't God good? Not just good but greater than we can ever imagine! The headline is the title of John Glass' book and a major theme across Elim churches at the moment. It's also exactly what we have been about in Bootle and in this area for some time. Since I wrote last time, we have experienced the first major gathering of believers in Christ in the Echo Arena - a landmark event and a lot of food to ponder over and seek God about in our communities. Being the hands and feet of God in this city, supporting and partnering with those in authority can only lead to great things. Our ladies night was amazing too, powerful testimony of the glory of God. Thanks to Lynn and Carol for their testimony which many of you will know, deliverance through trials of illness, family loss and finding solace and strength in the most High God. As Proverbs 3, v5-6 says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, Seek His will in all you do and He will show you which path to take." And it's not just the ladies that are growing and reaching out... Our Mighty Men are seeking God and stretching out for more of Him, gathering for prayer and worship time, seeking Him earnestly and God is honouring His promises, building and drawing us nearer to Him. Get ready! Bigger people are needed for these bigger things to come and there's room for every one of God's children to gather at His feet! Please continue to pray for each other to keep growing, to be filled constantly with more of Him, to be used to display God's power and to change lives all around us! We have lots of things to look forward to through the Summer, the BBQ is just over a week away and we pray for great weather and blessing on those that are coming along. All praise and honour to God! See u soon :)

Pressing on towards the Goal
No, I don't mean any football match this time! At Bootle Elim, we're looking to God and seeking Him for the answers - a great couple of weeks have flown by! Farewell and all our love and blessings to Bob and Jan Clough, who shared their great news that they are heading off up North of the border to Greenock. Come back and visit us again soon! Thank you to Malcolm and Denise for the wise healing words on the 1st Sunday Evening service. We were very blessed. Our first night of prophetic teaching was very well attended and any who eagerly desire more from God are welcome to come along to the next one in July (date t.b.a.) It was great to just soak and receive then put into motion what God was saying - More soon! Strangely, it says later in Philippians 4, v9 "Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me-everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you" Exciting stuff, eh?! So let's go do it...Keep praying for the Redeeming our Communities event and our great city, please and for the BBQ in July - it is a great event always with God present, directing the fun and we just want to make some more souls happy and well fed - sunshine in abundance please Lord!!! Check out the Events log for more details and God bless til next time :p

Setting down a marker...
Welcome again - God has given us a real blessed time. The younger church went to Space (not in a rocket - it's the name of the youth event @ Wavertree Frontline!) with an amazing line-up of talented anointed bands. Lots of the young guys and gals in attendance were built up and commitments made which was fabulous. We were delighted to host Steve Long from Toronto & it's always great to be joined by Kevin Peat (who was chauffeur for the evening). Many people were healed, built up and encouraged on the night. There was an experience with God that was genuine and it set down a marker for us all to move forward from. With the sun shining bright and the summer just around the corner, walls are coming down - let's be ready for the next episode God has in store for us. Be assured whatever it is, it will be good..."What an awesome place this is! It is none other than the house of God, the very gateway to heaven!" Genesis 29, v17 (NLT)

It's time to get personal!
Hello again... Any relationship we have in life needs time spent on it for it to flourish and live - hey? If not, things become stagnant, difficult and not very good at all. We are used to hearing the phrase - "where does the time go???" are we not? Our God is always there for us and makes the time for us 24/7 but do we spend enough time with Him??? Time is running shorter and shorter, it's time to get personal and show Him WE care. As we are challenged, let's try and spend more time in His presence whenever we can and there we will find the answers we are seeking for many things. We have heard lots of encouragement recently from Pastor Steve and Roy Morgan along these lines - He is worth it! Take a look at 1 COR 7, v 23-24. As The Message version concludes, "Friends, stay where you were called to be. God is there. Hold the high ground with Him at your side." There simply is no better place to be...:)

Welcome everyone! There are plenty of new things growing at Bootle, if you didn't know already! As previously mentioned, our Men of God will be gathering for the first time on Mon 18th May led by Ian Yates and we look forward to some discussion with substance. Come and join us, you will be very welcome. Steve and Yvonne are enjoying a holiday (while they can!) until the end of the week and we do hope they have a great time of rest and sunshine. We will have a new video online for you via the "Media" button very shortly so why not click and enjoy :)

Our hope in times of trouble...
"He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in Him I will trust..." so it says in Psalm 91, an old favourite of mine that I've referred to before. However, I make no apology for bringing it back this week. There is so much fear being peddled every day and night across the airwaves and in the newspapers whether it be financial collapse to the left or swine flu epidemics to the right. Life is a trial at the best of times but it is so essential for those who have their trust in the right direction to look up to the Lord Jesus and what is going on around him. We must hold on to that very hope beyond the things in front of our eyes. Even so, there is so much deep and rich reality at our fingertips in the Word of God, if we will only take the time and look so why not get down with Him a bit more - He's the only Way. We enjoyed a great day on Sunday with some of the new flock declaring their faith publicly and being baptised at Bounty House Hotel, Aintree. It's just the beginning of an amazing, eternal journey for our new friends and we are eagerly looking forward to accompanying them. Let's look to their example and keep on as Pastor Steve has been urging us. Let's be thankful for everything at our disposal despite the circumstances and lift up our amazing God, always being mindful of others needs and issues. Pray for each other guys! He IS listening... God bless u all til next time :)

Do you know who you are?
The sons and daughters of the living God! Let's not forget that. A great couple of weeks have flew past at Bootle. We have had some new faces and old join us again over the period. We were blessed by Enzo's words and he made it to us in the morning just in time! We loved having our brothers and sisters from Elim with us in the night time and look forward to more such gatherings. It's always important to assemble the other bits of the body in one place and see you are not alone. Together we are stronger...A great tribe, young and old, headed up "Helm Crag" in the Lake District on Easter Saturday with some serious fears conquered Praise God - the weather was excellent and we loved the pictures, guys - well done one and all...our monthly visit from Roy Morgan on Sunday was an Easter gift to us all and our God is an awesome God making His presence very real - please don't miss out - DVDs are available as normal from Mike, Ian & Paul @ the desk. We have already mentioned recently about the 4Points website and Kate and the kids presentation gave great clarity to this foundational campaign which also features...And finally, Ian Yates (and the other Ian) were surprise "live" guests on 7 Waves Radio on the Wirral on Easter Sunday night. There was some live music from our worship leader - real unplugged stuff - and testimony from both, proving to be a really blessed evening - if not very unusual! Forget "My Way"! God always does things His way - the far better option and thank heaven for that! Ian has lots of exciting dates coming up and who knows what else is in store in the weeks and months ahead??? Our God knows. Bless u all til next time :)

It's not all about the chocolate...
Welcome again one and all! Isn't it great to know you're a child of God?! If you question that at all, Easter is the perfect and very powerful time that reminds us all of the very real price paid for that eternal family tie. It also gives us a fabulous time of celebration, joy, hope and symbols of new life in our Easter egg gifts to each other. Our act of service to each other and the communities we live in is of vital importance but let's not forget the order of things and put our God first in our lives in whatever we do. Our building seems to be bursting at times and our overflow into Goddard Hall will continue for some of the children's activity with your co-operation - It's a great sign and we need to continue to pray for God to give us increasing wisdom with everything we do. We are looking forward to a great season, which will no doubt be tough at times but we know that all things work together for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Hope to see you all at Bootle, lots and lots this Easter and beyond! :)

Mum's The Word
I know, it was an obvious headline, wasn't it?!! Our Mothers Day celebration was a floral tribute to remember and a fitting celebration of all our mums. I think there were so many flowers, some of the dads ended up with posies too!!! Mrs Yates delivered a super sharp word about the importance of honouring parents and if you want more of this wisdom for your leisure, please see us for a CD or DVD as normal. As we prepare for the Easter period, there are new roads to follow, all lit up before us by our awesome King. On Wednesday 1st April, we will be treading a couple locally, extending our hands of friendship further into the community and inviting them to join us in our Easter activities. We will be posting invite cards and blessing each home with mini eggs from 7pm - if you can help out, please come along and show your support. There is a marvellous campaign headed up by www.the4points.com so check this out if you can - taxis are whizzing about all over Liverpool bearing the 4 points symbols of God's Love (heart), All have sinned (X cross), Jesus died for us (+ cross) and that a decision needs to be made (? mark). Please visit the site for more info and options to get involved, buy merchandise etc... A final thought for today - Psalm 34 says "Join me in spreading the news, together let's get the word out..." what more can I say - He's worth talking about, isn't he?! God bless u all til next time :)

Times of Celebration
We were all so pleased to see the happy couple, Pete and Jackie get married in Bootle on Saturday - Congratulations! It was an awesome day and God really blessed everyone involved. Thank you. A beautiful service celebrating the covenant of love and Jackie looked fabulous (Pete and Gary in those kilts were also a sight to behold - dirks, sporrans and all...) The dance floor was heaving in the night and there were some expert moves from young and old alike - you all know who you are! Seriously, it was great to see people of all backgrounds, ages and experience of life come together to celebrate the initiation of a new sub-section of God's bigger family and it just goes to show, no matter how different we all are, we all have something to bring into His Kingdom and can come together in His name and celebrate in style! Watch out for news of some new activities coming up soon but for now, God bless u all :)

The Outpouring continues...
What a great weekend at Bootle Elim! Sunday morning we spread our tent a little more & moved Kids Church into the neighbouring Goddard Hall. The children now have lots more room for their Sunday morning activities. Meanwhile back in the old place, the "bigger kids" had time to reflect on how God wants to bring out those hidden treasures in us. We examined the story of Esther & Mordecai and how each of them died to self for the good of others - plenty to ponder... A story of two very ordinary people who rose to positions of great influence.
In the evening we had our third ‘Outpouring Meeting’ with our guest speaker Paul Dunne and his wife Lynn from the Elim Kensington. It was great to see some of the "Gappies" from YKids and Pastor Malcolm Dyer & Dave from Formby Elim at the meeting. Once again God honoured us with His awesome presence and the Holy Spirit moved powerfully, touching many lives. Please let us know if you were blessed or you received any healings. We are encouraged when we hear testimonies and they are both vital and powerful.
God is drawing us into more intimate relation with Him and we are trusting him for more miracles, signs and wonders. So let’s keep our hearts pure and refrain from grumbling, complaining and criticising, because the Word of God says that those with a pure heart WILL SEE GOD, and this is our hearts' desire – to see God in our lives, our church, our communities and our nation.
See you Sunday, but come early for a seat!

Great is Your name in all the earth! Our pastors Steve & Yvonne plus Trish & Keith came back from the cold of Canada with plenty of fabulous testimony and inspiration which was shared with us last Sunday night - the start of awesome greater things! Where did January go?! So much activity in just one month and a solid foundation has been laid for the year ahead. We will be hosting a DVD night on the 3rd Sunday of the month from 6.30pm (15th Feb) - gathering at the church building to soak up up some of the conference talks from Toronto so none of you have to miss out on this fiery insight if you haven't experienced it already! If you haven't visited us before, you are very welcome to come along too and watch - there is no charge and we'll probably throw a cuppa in as well (plus a few biscuits!) New video additions should appear overnight and be available for you from 8th Feb - these are all on our God Tube channel which has now changed to its new name "tangle" - why not join up and become our friend??? Until next time - bless u all...

Finally, if u want to get Keith M's great word from Sunday, the DVD can be bought for just £1 at the moment - what a bargain and it won't be a feature on our God Tube channel so get it now while u can - Love and blessings on u all, until next time...

Plans for 2009...
This year we have decided to have an ‘Outpouring Meeting’ on the first Sunday of each month. This meeting is open to people from other churches if they do not have a meeting to go to themselves. The meetings will be an opportunity for hungry people to come together and worship our Heavenly Father. The meetings will be characterised by worship, ministry and preaching from God’s word. We are trusting God for miracles of healing, and signs & wonders following the preaching of the word. Over the last year we have had a number of people coming to faith in Christ, we pray that this will continue and that we will see our community transformed as peoples’ lives are touched by God. We are fast outgrowing our present building, so we are trusting God for bigger premises in the near future. At the moment, due to the economic downturn there is an impending sense of doom and gloom, but God’s word tells us in Jeremiah 29 : 11 ‘ For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.’ Join us in seeking His presence this year, only Gods presence will bring change to people’s lives, to our churches and to our nation.

That was 2008...
Last year was an amazing year at Bootle Elim, probably our best one ever. When Steve and Yvonne arrived back from the Pastors conference in Toronto, we spent a number of evenings watching DVDs on the ‘Big Screen’ of the meetings at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship. We had an awesome time in God’s presence and God really took us to a new level in Him. The presence of God was very powerful in those meetings and many testified that God really touched their hearts and their lives. We all enjoyed a more intimate relationship with our Father God. We continued to meet and pray for our local Health Visiting Team and YKids with some truly amazing answers to prayer. Later on in the year when Steve & Yvonne went over to the Lakeland Outpouring, on arriving back in Bootle, the church put on extra meetings during August and over a five week period over 1100 people came through the doors. Many people had travelled from places such as Widnes, Southport and many areas of Liverpool. Everyone was hungry for God’s presence, some people said they had been waiting 30 years to experience the presence of God in this way and there were testimonies of healing. We had some dynamic worship in those meetings and we felt that God was telling us to keep our hands clean and our hearts pure, that we might see His glory...and on to 2009!

A New Year dawns...
Hope everyone has had an enjoyable Christmas and that you are looking forward to what God has in store for us all in the New Year! We will be starting a revised schedule from January and will be posting that up here for you shortly - please note that there is no Sunday night worship until then but keep logging on and checking up for full details soon... I'm writing this news journal this morning not knowing what is to come. Do any of us really know what is to come in the New Year or the years ahead of 2009? We can all make our predictions if we dare and the self appointed experts on life we see and hear in the media will all have their view but our Christian hope is simply in the example of Jesus, our God faithful and ever true, to love us always through every trial as well as through every blessing he deems to give us. My aim is to keep love on my agenda as it is on His this year ahead and keep my hope in Him. God bless you all for the New Year ahead...

Hail the Incarnate Deity
Ever thought about this line in the familiar favourite "Hark the Herald Angels Sing"??? It was always a mystery to me as a young man in school (not that long ago!), just singing the words and thinking how strange they were and not really knowing what it meant! I don't know whether many of my mates knew what they were singing either and that sometimes applies when we get a bit older too. But if we look at the words now and just break it down... HAIL - means greet, acclaim, salute or praise, INCARNATE - means embodied or in human form and DEITY is simply God. This line sums up for me the absolute meaning of this season we call Christmas - to welcome the birth and praise God who saw fit to come and exist with us in human form, to show us the Way to live our lives. An amazing eternal gift to us ALL! If you want to know him more this Christmas, please contact us by whatever way you wish to. There are more Christmas video gifts for everyone via our GodTube channel (click on the Media button) which we hope will be of service to you... God bless each and every one of you this Christmas...

Finishing strong!
Haven't we been so blessed in 2008?! Now is the time to finish things off strong and so 2008's Christmas really means focusing on Him - the complete reason for the season... It isn't an easy time of year for many people who are feeling lost, broken, alone and bewildered right now but we know a huge part of why Jesus came is to re-connect with these people and out of this weakness , His strength and love can heal all ills. Please remember all are welcome to come and celebrate with us this Christmas and always - his arms are always open... A couple of things to mention - we may be featuring in the Elim Direction magazine in the near future so we hope this means the Word is out on us for the right reasons! There will still be plenty of updates and video snippets being posted over Christmas too (next lot hopefully in the next couple of days) so keep coming back for more! God bless u all until next time...

Christmas is coming...
and the goose is getting fat! The run-up to Christmas has begun in earnest and as December hits us (tomorrow!), there are plenty of good times ahead for us all in Bootle and beyond! The football team continue their amazing National Cup run returning triumphantly from Surrey last night with a 6-3 victory after extra time - Well done guys! There are a fair few dates for diaries featured in our "Events" section so please take a look and come along if you are able to do so... There will also be more inspirational preaching featuring online later in the week as an early Christmas present to you all - something for everyone to chew over rather than leftover turkey! We have lots to celebrate this year as our God is awesome and is moving each of us along into new ground. This is just the start! Stay strong in Him! Bless u all until next time...

To God be the glory...
We are so blessed! It's been a whirlwind of a week with a great visit to Blackpool Elim for the ladies event with Helen Yousaf and Margaret Peat - all reports received have been that the ladies came back fired up and brimming over! Ian Yates and Band (and me!) travelled across the Pennines to Grimsby and the Oasis Academy on Saturday where they led worship at the "Freak" youth event alongside The Steels who are an equally anointed band from the North East. God is really using these events to touch young people in a tangible and real way and the guys that organised this all want to do their bit for Him - well done! Sunday was "A Day with Kevin Peat" and part of the morning service is being featured on our GodTube site so check that out very shortly! Kevin had plenty of the flock in the house and on Sunday evening - there was not a seat anywhere to be had - an amazing evening of worship, praise and devotion. We want more and a bigger building please Lord so we can keep on serving you in this way or whatever way you desire, in Jesus name. Keep your heads up, one and all - the best is yet to come! Keep in touch or send us your comments, suggestions etc, we would love to hear from you...God bless you all until next time!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus...
...look full in his wonderful face. There are some great things happening in the church at Bootle at the moment - Pastors Steve and Yvonne spent a few days up at Glasgow Elim where John and Carol Arnott from Toronto Airport Fellowship in Canada were ministering. The teaching, blessing and anointing that they received, they have begun to impart and pass on to us all on Sunday night and no doubt, this will be set to continue. In addition, many of us returned from The Stand event in Birmingham at the weekend with a deep experience of the injustice that still exists in this world we have been entrusted with. Whether this be as a result of caste ideologies in India and the plight of the Dalit people or closer to home with young people drawn into grooming circles and abuse, it is clear that we as children of Christ need to be at the forefront of stopping this in its tracks. We have been filled up and have been positioning ourselves for what God's plans and purposes are at Bootle and there will be more opportunities now to get involved in making a difference over the weeks to come. We have plenty of info packs and DVDs from The Stand and hope to initiate some action through the House and Prayer Groups shortly. You can talk to any of us that attended (Ian and Kate Y, Ian M, Les & Lynn, Trish, Andy & Mike) or e-mail us and we'll be glad to tell you more. Please continue to pray for God's wisdom and direction for everything we do because doing stuff out of our own strength is a waste of time! We'll be putting some new links up on the "Media" and "Links" buttons in the next few days with further information on some of the causes and issues and a proper link to our GodTube area (www.godtube.com/elimbootle)which we hope to develop in the weeks and months to come. Jesus wants us to fill up and give out, he showed the way and we hope that the website, services and information will help you all do just that. God bless you all until next time...

High and Lifted Up!
Let's all shout "Hallelujah"! Our football team are through to the next round of the National cup, with a 2-1 home victory over Ecclesiastical of Cheltenham. A trip down to Surrey for the next round is the next challenge for the team - well done boys! As ever, there are lots of things on the go in Bootle at the moment...We have had a number of new faces at our morning and evening meetings and it's always wonderful to make new friends as well as see our "old" ones! The Sunday evenings are a perfect opportunity to just lift up the name of the Lord Jesus and focus on Him. As Pastor Steve said just the other week, bring the youngsters along if you can so they can share and soak in the presence of God as much as possible - the promise is that it's ALL GOOD! The Alpha, marriage courses and House groups are now well established and lots of good comments and smiling faces have been noted - I believe that the Alpha guys are getting a right Royal feed at Carol and Bud's (in more ways than one! - P.S. any leftovers are always greatly appreciated!!!) We are in the process of arranging a new video service through the GodTube network and will be posting further details when this becomes available. It would be great if you could keep praying for more of God's wisdom in the media/ web based activity and all of our outreach into the community, with the children's work and whatever else God asks us to do so we can see more breakthroughs for Him. Bless you all...

A quick update...
Apologies that due to some sound problems, we have been unable to upload the service from 4th October. If you would like a dvd of Roy Morgan's talk from last week, please put your order in with Mike or Ian and we'll arrange that for you. We are hoping to re-launch the video service online in a couple of weeks through a new provider so please pray that we can overcome the initial difficulties and that God will continue to move through the website and touch more people. Ain't He great?!

New Wine
Our new house groups and Alpha courses are now up and running and a good night was had by all. However, there is still time to get signed up and involved - please contact us by the normal methods or speak to Steve or Yvonne. Perhaps we had better not make too much of the football team's Akeju cup result!? All I will say is that the perfect number of goals went in for our opponents! Let's pray that the guys recover and move forward in the league... There will be some more videos added during the next week for your enjoyment after some technical hitches with the new equipment, discs being mislaid etc - however, all is now well and I'll get right on it! Keep coming back for more during the week. Bless you all...

The Kingdom, The Power & The Glory
Congratulations to John & Debbie Massey who are now Mr & Mrs! Everyone had a marvellous time and enjoyed their day immensely - Have you seen the new name for our Sunday evening service (it's the headline in case you missed it!)?? Whatever we call it, expect God to do great things, to continue to empower lives and move in Bootle, Liverpool and the North West when we honour, seek and worship Him. Come and join us soon - can you afford not to?! Thank you to Les and Peter who stood up on Sunday morning and gave amazing testimonies of what God has been and is doing in their lives - very humbling and powerful. These true life stories are now featured, with the guys' consents, in our Media/ video library. Anyone who ever has any bad days, wobbles or doubts (is that all of us then?!) should CHECK THESE OUT and see that God is on the move, reviving and mobilising His people. If you are impacted by these words at all, please feel free to e-mail or phone us or better still come along and see us. As our home page says "Everyone welcome!". The Sunday morning message will also be posted up on the Media button very soon. House groups start up from Wednesday 8th October and if you want to be involved in one or don't know who you are with, please see Steve and Yvonne who will be glad to assist. Loads more going on at the moment so check out the "Events" log and "What's On" for more - Phew, it's getting pretty hot, isn't it (or is that just the steam off my keyboard?!!)

Let them eat cake!
A great week in Bootle already and more to come! Check out the Sunday word in the video section along with a memorial video for Steve's 50th birthday. You can check out what the footy team guys are up to at http://full-time.thefa.com and looking up Merseyside Christian League Division 3 (Man of the match goalkeeper from our previous win, Andy Yates, played at left back this time and scored??? You don't get that in the Premiership eh?!) Our final Wednesday meeting (for now!) took place this week and was a unique experience with God as always. We keep saying it but it's true! Our God is awesome and keeps things fresh, new and exciting if you will just allow Him to. The name of Jesus is lifted high and darkness flees! This weekend, Debbie and John are getting married so please pray for them and that they have an amazing, blessed day. Until next time, God bless you all and expect more soon!

The Victory Is Ours!
Lots happening at Bootle this week inside and out! Our new football team has recently had its first official outing in Merseyside Christian League Division 3 against Stanley Park. We won our first game, a very close encounter, 3 - 2 home at Brooke Vale, with Andy Yates securing the "Man of the Match" honours with a sterling performance between the posts. Let's pray that God protects those hands of his for the worship this week (along with the rest of the team of course!) The team have their first away game against St David's coming up this weekend so keep them all in your prayers. Our program of activities is now back in full flow after a summer break so please take a look at what we are up to via the Events and "What's On" sections. It is going to be an amazing few months ahead - exciting times to add to those we have already had so praise God - let's keep on pressing in to what He has planned!!!

Empowered...
Many of us returned from the "Empower" week at Cefn Lea Holiday and Conference Centre feeling just that - empowered for a new season ahead. It's back to school, college and work for everyone(if you have been off at all!) and it is a very busy time for all. Our additional meetings continue and throughout all the recent meetings, the many testimonies of what God is doing in peoples lives are becoming more common. Many more are stepping forward in faith, sharing visions, experiences and stories of what God is doing right NOW in their lives... New video from the weekend morning service will be available later this week and please remember, if you want to get in touch, share anything with us, need us to pray for you, whatever it is - drop us an e-mail (address on the Home page).

Onward and upward...
Whilst it has kept physically pouring from the heavens during a very wet August, it's continues to be pouring out spiritually too! Thank you God, as over 700 have been at our meetings since Steve and Yvonne's return from the USA. Every meeting thus far has drawn people closer to God and many have committed or re-committed their lives to Him. Please continue to pray for all concerned, our leaders, worship teams, intercessor team and for all those seeking and hearing. We want to draw people to God and its not about us, its about Him and our relationship... Contact us or come meet with us soon, we would love to hear from you...

Blessing in abundance - the week so far...
An amazing week - more people coming and receiving from God. Our evening meetings are open to all, with no agenda and God is honouring that. No two nights the same but all full of God's goodness. This morning, we had a wonderful time of blessing celebrating Carol & Bud's 40 years of marriage and with a fruit breakfast together (as well as the Lord's supper!) plus an amazing, relevant and powerful word from Alex Tee. Video details will be online in the week including some great testimony from Carol and Bud. It was just an awesome morning in God's presence and followed up with another evening celebration fit for the King. Our band of 3, Lee, Andy and James led worship with a fresh power and focus on God tonight whilst Kate and Ian are away. A great time is a guarantee in God's presence and He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things! More to come - watch this space!!!

Yates's Go To Lakeland (and other news!)
If you hadn't heard already, our Pastors Steve & Yvonne are off to Lakeland, Florida on Thursday 10th July 2008 to spend a week at the Florida Outpouring led by Todd Bentley & Fresh Fire Ministries. Our prayers and blessings go with them in the expectancy that God will just give them an amazing experience and they will bring back the hot coals to share with everyone! Jan and Bob Clough will be leading the Sunday service with guest speaker, Roy Morgan, in their absence this week.
In other news, Graham and Alison are on their way home from Turkey for a visit and we hope that they will be joining us and sharing their news this weekend. We were blessed with an amazing day last Saturday for the joint Elim BBQ - around 150 of us (including over 90 of the Bootle crowd) assembled despite a few prophesies of doom over the weather! God answers prayers and we stood firm in faith and through the early clouds and rain... God gave us a scorcher in the afternoon (there were some red heads and bodies to prove it afterwards!) and it was enjoyed by one and all. Thanks to God and everyone involved practically with the catering, travel and organisation and that came along to make it such a fun day.
And finally...
Chattertots and Jigsaw Club for the youngsters finish this week for the Summer. Youth Club will be open for business a further week finishing Friday 18th July 2008. Looks like, we'll be getting the pizza in again (and garlic bread hopefully!) ...

If anyone would like a dvd copy of Alex Tee's talk last Sunday whilst the technical hitches are ironed out, we can arrange a copy for you for just £1 (same price as the audio cd)
What a bargain!
Please see Mike or Ian if you would like one...
Our night with the YKids and PAIS team was excellent once again but tinged with a little sadness as the existing PAIS team prepare to finish their season and move on to new challenges. Please continue to pray for Claire and the YKids project and for Michael, Pete, Shona, Julia and Rachel in their new ventures.
